The biography of June Christy by Bruno Théol , illustrated by Laura Ioro and accompanied by 2 compact discs.

June Christy replaced Anita O'Day in Stan Kenton 's orchestra in 1945. In 1946, 1947, 1948 and 1950, she was voted "best female vocalist with a big band" by Down Beat . His first solo album, Something Cool (1953-1955), conducted and arranged by Pete Rugolo, is a classic of cool jazz and a masterpiece of sensuality. The two CDs of this album cover the twelve essential years of June's career and show in turn the warmth of a melodious and sensual voice in the ballads, the mastery and the rhythm in the up tempo titles.
