However, if it is true that the sound he derived from his tenor saxophone possessed an irresistible seduction, this sensitive and capricious artist could satisfy the most demanding listener, as his palette was so wide, from the caress to the most frank force. A remarkable virtuoso, an inexhaustible improviser, Getz knew above all how to make his instrument sing, extracting all the juice from the melodies he interpreted, in the company of musicians he chose with care.
