BD BLUES
The biography of Blind Lemon Jefferson by Jean Buzelin , illustrated by Isaac Wens and accompanied by 2 compact discs.
One of the great legendary figures of American popular music, Blind Lemon Jefferson (1893-1930) was the very first blues guitarist and singer to achieve success, thus allowing a number of solo bluesmen to find their way into the studios. He is also the founding figure of Texas blues and defined the canons of the genre. But, thanks to the enormous sales of his records, Jefferson had a considerable influence well beyond Texas, on all bluesmen up to T-Bone Walker , on many pioneers of Country Music and even stars folk ( Bob Dylan ) and Rock (the group Jefferson Airplane which took its name after the old master).
